YouTube Season 3

August 2021 - August 2022

We currently have over 25 videos in Season 1 and several more in Season 2

Kunio's videos are pretty short, most under 5 minutes. Our philosophy is to show highlights, not to dive in and try to boost our YouTube channel. We like to share and want you to see some of the places that we've been able to enjoy on our travels. Some may contain tidbits of educational content. LOL, We're teachers after all.

Enjoy Season 1 Videos here.

Enjoy Season 2 Videos here.

Season 3 videos are below with the most current at the top.

Happy Anniversary

Our 33rd wedding anniversary is on July 1, 2022. We will celebrate by watching a practice run of the Blue Angels as they prepare for their show in Traverse City, MI for the National Cherry Festival.

This extremely short 35-second video is from our past year. Kunio is always taking selfies to remember our visits with friends, special places or fun times. This is a bunch of those selfies put together. Fun

Epcot Harmonious

Epcot Harmonious is a spectacular display of fireworks, laser show, water show, and MUSIC! It was hard to not sing along while watching this spectacular display.

We were able to snag a great spot in the Italy Pavillion and it was fabulous.

2022 Florida RV Supershow!

We were able to enjoy the RV Supershow in Tampa on January 19-23 at the State Fairgrounds. We camped with the Lippert Scouts Group just outside the gates and volunteered our time driving guests in need around the Supershow!

We enjoyed meeting RVers, helping where we could and we loved hearing of their adventures in their RVs. There were families and individuals getting into RVing for the first time, seasoned RVers and other full time RVers enjoying the show, buying new RVs, getting goods, lining up services and attending seminars! We enjoyed it all.

Wild Florida Park

2RT and friends visit Wild Florida Gator Park in Kenansville, Fl. at the end of December 2021.

https://wildfloridairboats.com

This park does a wonderful job with education and conservation. We were so impressed with the handlers and their up close and personal shows.

You can upgrade your ticket to get personal encounters with some amazing animals like their sloth encounter.

We got in with their Florida resident discount and it was amazing!

Enjoy some of the sights and sounds of the park in this short 3-minute video. And if you’re ever in Florida check out Wild Florida! We’re excited to go back for an airboat ride!!

Myakka River Motorcoach Resort

Happy Thanksgiving from Two Retired Teachers. We spent a quiet day enjoying the RV resort.

Our simplified Thanksgiving meal was cranberry and sage stuffed turkey breast. Sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and gravy, orange cranberry sauce, and a bottle of delicious sparkling cranberry wine.

We’re always thrilled to cook a meal in our small space. The key is planning things out and prepping. Mise en place as the French say.

We also did a few Christmas projects to send out to Michigan this week. Michelle’s Cricut and creative side was in overdrive this week.

Enjoy our short video showcasing the beautiful sunset.

Great Smokey Mountains National Park

October 2021 - Two Retired Teachers spent a wonderful two weeks at Anchor Down RV Resort, a beautiful resort overlooking Douglas Lake in Dandridge, TN.

We spent time doing many things, sightseeing, shopping, moonshine tasting, and more. But one of the highlights is most definitely the hikes, drives, and the beautiful Smoky Mountains!

Here is a short video on our hike to Grotto Falls, drives in the Smoky Mountains National Park and more.

Alpaca Farm Harvest Host Stay

We enjoyed our Harvest Host stay at Blendon Pines Alpaca Farm in Hudsonville, Michigan! What a delightful experience to learn about the farm, see the alpacas, goats and pigs and more!

The alpacas are so gentle to be around. Total therapy. The evening was quiet and the farm was a delight.

Harvest Host does it again. It’s so worth the membership.

Beartooth Pass & Yellowstone National Park

We were able to sneak a day to travel over the Beartooth Pass from Red Lodge, Montana 68 miles to the Northeast Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It took us just about 2 hours with all of the stops for sightseeing, slower speeds between 15 and 35 mph, and informational pullout locations. It was BREATHTAKING and BEAUTIFUL! And a bit scary at times! This National Scenic Highway is open from Memorial Day to mid-October depending on conditions and storms. It can often be closed due to current conditions. It is one of the highest and most rugged areas in the lower 48 states, with 20 peaks reaching over 12,000 feet in elevation. The road itself is the highest elevation highway in Wyoming (10,947 feet) and Montana (10,350 feet).

Yellowstone National Park, the worlds first National Park, was established in 1872 and has gone through many changes. It is home to more than 10,000 hydrothermal features including geysers, hot springs, mud pots and fumaroles. Yellowstone is home to more than 500 active geysers which is more than half of geysers in the world. It also has the largest concentration of mammals in the lower 48 states. (67 species)

Our day went by quickly and we have plans to be back to come in from the south and visit Old Faithful! Our day was not long enough to be able to see everything and take it all in. We are hoping to plan a full 3 days in the park.

Even though we were not able to spend a great deal of time in the park, you can see that there is so much beauty around. We are so lucky to live in this great country even with it's trials and turmoil. We continue to meet amazing people on our full time RV journey and we treasure each day, especially a day like the one we enjoyed here.

Everyday is a journey, and the journey itself is HOME!

Lake Fork Trailhead - Red Lodge

Today (8-28-2021) was cool in the mid 60°s. We were worried when we first woke to rain that we wouldn’t be able to hike but the rain turned out to be a blessing. The normally hazy sky that we have been seeing because of fires in Montana cleared for our hike.

We hiked the Lake Fork Trailhead. This out and back hike is a beautiful easy hike for the shortened portion that we did. We did not hike the full 13.9 hike. We stopped and went around 1.5 miles in and enjoyed the scenery then hiked back.

We’ve been enjoying our time visiting with family. We feel truly blessed to be able to be together in beautiful Montana.

Steepworld Climbing Center

We are having a great time visiting with family in Billings, MT.

As a birthday gift to Michelle, her sister and brother-in-law took her to Steepworld Climbing and Fitness for a couple of hours of climbing on the rock walls. A great time for all! Much fun and laughter.

Happy Birthday, Michelle!

Thodore Roosevelt National Park

We arrived early at our Harvest Host in Dickinson, ND. so we made a quick trip over to explore Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We are so happy that we did!

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is home to bison, wild horses, prairie dogs, and elk. We were extremely lucky to see so much on our quick trip but we did not get any good media of elk at the park.

The National Park was created in 1947 and has three main parts to the park. We explored the south unit. Unfortunately, we did not get to see the full 36-mile loop because parts of it were washed out but in the end, we felt so lucky to be able to enjoy these beautiful animals in their natural habitat.

Teddy Roosevelt experienced the devastation of the loss of the ranchers herds due to overgrazing and the near extinction of the bison due to overhunting. Roosevelt became known as the conservationist president because he established the U.S. Forest Service in 1905. During his 8 years in office he created 18 National Monuments, 5 National Parks, and 230 million acres of protected lands.

The T. R. National Park has easy to moderate hikes throughout the park and they range from .2 to 3.6 miles.

T. R. National Park was established to honor Roosevelt

Michigan's Upper Peninsula

We are heading out on our first trip out west and start our third season of full time travel in our RV.

Our trip starts in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Ultimately, our trip will take us to visit family in Montana with some stops along the way. We will visit our son and daughter-in-law in Wisconsin as well.

We both grew up in Michigan and love Michigan summers. This trip to the U.P. is a favorite. It’s our first time as full timers to cross the Mighty Mac. Beautiful and majestic, the Mackinac Bridge was first opened in November 1 of 1957 and is the fifth longest suspension bridge in the world. It is five miles long and crosses the straights of Mackinac.

BTW.. Mackinaw City is spelled with w at the end. Mackinac Island and bridge end with a c. The name Michilimackinac, the place of the "Great Turtle", was first given to Mackinac Island for its shape and was eventually given to the entire Straits of Mackinac region.

This trip we visited:

Wagner Falls

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Munising Falls

Sand Point

Miners Falls

Miners Castle

We visited East Channel Brewing Company and Cooking Carberry’s Wood Fired Pizzas in Munising. We had two of the best personal pizzas we’ve had in a long time. So unique. Fig and Pig and also the Blueberry Pizza (it was savory!) as well as a couple of wonderful craft brews.

We traveled toward Wisconsin with a stop overnight near Escanaba at OB Fuller County Campground and enjoyed an afternoon and evening with a lakeside spot. We pulled into the spot backwards (which is forwards toward the lake - we have a Class A RV) so that we could enjoy the amazing Lake Michigan and beautiful beach area. So peaceful. A great spot!!
